A Journey
That began its first leg in 6 months and is continuing for the rest of my life. My name is David but everyone knows me as Sonny. My story starts off with a 300lb 23yr man. He’s happy with his life and is comfortable in his large body. He likes to drink and party. And boy… does he love to eat! lol Well, about 3 years ago, he went on a trip to vegas and proceeded to enjoy the drinks, parties, and buffets. On the way back, he felt a sharp pain in his chest and had a headache that would not go away. So he decided to go see his doctor just to make sure everything was ok. Everything was not ok unfortunately. The doctor told him that his blood pressure is 155, he is borderline diabetic, and as hypertension. He flat out told him that he was headed for an early “retirement” from life. Well, this scared the large man of course. So he proceeded to claim to the doc that “I promise you! in a year ill be 100lbs lighter!”Of course that man was me lol. I am the type that likes to “talk big” but how was i going to back it up? I decided to follow a diet of 1800cal a day. It was any particular diet, more common sense of what i can eat and shouldn’t be eating. Then i decided ill give the gym a go! Boy o boy! did i fall in love. I began doing twoadays! A month goes by, then another, then another, and finally i hit the halfway point at 6 months. I decided it was time for a midway checkup. The doctor comes out and weighs me… he says” Sonny…. you weighed 300lbs last time i saw you… you are now…175lbs! Your blood pressure is 120, no diabetes, and no hypertension!” They were all gone in a half year! I couldn’t believe i lost 125lbs. Neither could he as he asked me “did you go see a plastic surgeon or something?” hahaha i told him nope doc, just diet and exercise…. and a lot of determination! As i come up on 3 years, i have now fallen in love with bodybuilding and constantly improving my body, mind, and spirit. I honestly believe that anyone can achieve their weightless goals because i did myself!. I know it sounds cliche but trust me! Its not as hard as it seems and the rewards outweigh the hardship. Goodluck my friends on achieving your goals! I hope I’ve inspired you peace.
